Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University Information

Established in 1758 and located in Moscow, First Moscow State Medical University is the oldest medical university in Russia. Officially known as I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and informally it is popular as Moscow Medical Academy or Sechenov University. The university was inaugurated as the Imperial Moscow University in 1755 and is named after Ivan Sechenov, a doctoral graduate of Moscow Imperial, who is also known as the father of Russian physiology. The First Moscow State Medical University became independent institution in 1930 and acquired full university status in 2010.
